President Goodluck Jonathan has sacked some ministers, months after speculations that he was planning a cabinet reshuffle; to re-energise what is regarded as a lackluster cabinet.
Those affected by the push include Ruqayat Rufai (Education); Shamsudeen Usman (National Planning); Ita Okon (science and technology); Olugbenga Ashiru (foreign affairs); Ama Pepple (lands) Hadiza Mailafia (environment); Zainab Kunchi (Power, [state]) and Buka Tijani (Agriculture [state]).
It is yet to be known what impact the exercise would have on the cabinet at this time.
